Sports movie day may have been two weeks ago but since then I have seen what was quite possibly the worst sports movie I have ever seen: The Legend of Bagger Vance. Other than Charlize Theron being a total babe, this movie was a complete waste of time.
Bagger Vance is really not a good movie, but then again, a week ago I rented The Bad News Bears Go to Japan. There is not enough cheap beer in the DC area to make me watch that movie again.
Oh my god. Yes. I can't imagine any sports movie being worse. Was there any mention of baseball in this movie?
Sheenie and I watched Once the other day. The music is beautiful, but the rest of the movie is pretty forgettable. Waitress just arrived in the mail, and I've always had a thing for Keri Russell.
My favorite parts of Waitress: Matlock, Langhorne Slim song, Keri Russell.
I really like Once, but I figure it's more because of what it reminds me of than the movie itself.
It certainly was more about the music and the mood than anything else. I will take this opportunity to re-recommend their new album.
Speaking of Keri, I just watched Bedtime Stories yesterday. Not bad for a Sandler movie, although I felt sad to see the levels that Jonathan Pryce and Guy Pierce have fallen. And I would never have recognized Lucy Lawless.
Again, Moss would be saying, "Keri, you were great in those two episodes of Scrubs...have you ever been in anything else?"
(In part, the back-handed compliment is always good, but also, Moss has no recollection of ever seeing her in anything else.)
Nah, her top work was in "Into the West"
I haven't really watched anything recently, other than re-watching Office Space due to its relevancy to my current life. I am planning on taking a brief hiatus from The Wire this weekend to watch Up because, after Wall-E I decided I should really just trust that whatever Pixar puts out will be good.
The last three Pixar films have all been amazing. My copy of Up should be waiting for me at home tonight, and I will be rewatching it immediately.
The whole fam enjoyed both Up and Wall-E.
I love Pixar, but the fact that their only movie release next year is a continuation of the Toy Story saga has me down. Dreamworks Animation is kicking their butts.
Just saw Monsters Vs. Aliens the other day. Very funny. I loved the two giant red buttons the president had.
I'm far more excited about Toy Story 3 than Cars 2. I'm very interested to see what kind of direction they go in for TS3, because since Toy Story 2 they've become far better filmmakers, in my opinion. But despite that, the cast of the Toy Story films are all unbelievably charming. I'm very excited. Cars 2 in 2011 is a bummer, but Christmas in 2011 is The Bear & The Bow, their first fairy tale (!) which I think will be excellent.
I love me some Pixar.
Dreamworks Animation is kicking their butts.
You're full of shrek.
The Replacments was on TNT the other night, so I made Mom & Dad watch it. I don't think they fully appreciated the awesomeness of it.
"I'm wirey..."
I enjoy that movie very much for some reason.
"I'm not a Mick, I'm bloody WELSH!"
Nigel is by far my favorite character in that movie.
I went and saw Zombieland last night. It was pretty entertaining for its 80 minute runtime, but it's only been a few hours since I saw it and I've already forgotten about 75 percent of the movie. It was like chewing a delicious piece of gum that loses its flavor immediately.
I enjoyed Zombieland very, very much. Although I am easily amused... ie- Cardio.
"Boy, you got me confused with someone who repeats himself."
Got to it over the weekend. Because of the Intertubes, I knew the quote was coming. But the fact that Omar said it to Marlo made it all the more delicious.
Have you finished season 5 yet? That delicious bite has a decidedly bitter aftertaste.
No, but I know what's going to happen. I believe a video was even posted here at the WGOM in reference to a "shiv." I watched the first four seconds of that clip before I realized what was going down.
Not to cross-post, but I have to run to a meeting. If you replace your Mac and can establish a link to "Education," you may be able to get a free Touch.
That would allow you to play with all of the fun aps without taking on the expense/calling issues associated with the iPhone. My MIL got a free Touch when she bought a new Mac, didn't know how to use it and gave it to me. I have to carry the Touch and a phone, which stinks, but my calls go through and my plan is a third as expensive.
I sure wish I had the charisma at the Caucus tonight to tell the waitress, "Now go ahead and write my ticket so I can tip on out."
