Solar Sox Summary

A three-run double by Bryan Petersen (Florida) capped a five-run fourth inning and led Mesa to a 6-4 victory over Surprise Tuesday. The win was Mesa's fifth consecutive victory.

Peterson was 3-for-4 for the game, driving in four runs. Twins batters did not contribute much to the effort: Steve Singleton came off the bench to go 0-for-2, Rene Tosoni was 0-for-3 with a walk, and Chris Parmelee was 0-for-4.

Alex Burnett got the save, pitching the last two innings. He gave up no runs, no hits, and two walks, striking out three. The win went to Randor Bierd (Boston).

The Surprise offense was led by Colin Curtis (Yankees), who went 3-for-4 with a double. The losing pitcher was Mike Parisi (St. Louis).

The win moved Mesa into sole possession of second place, 1.5 games out of first. The Solar Sox host Surprise this afternoon.
