Yangervis Solarte was 2-for-3 and Hector Gimenez (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-4 with a double. Wilson Ramos was 1-for-4 with a home run. Dustin Martin was 0-f0r-4. Oscar Salazar (San Diego) led La Guaira with three hits.
No Twins pitchers appeared in the game. The winning pitcher was Enrique Gonzalez (Boston), with Ronald Belisario getting the save with a scoreless ninth. Seth Etherton (San Diego) took the loss.
Wednesday
Wilson Ramos' two-run single was part of a four-run third-inning rally as Aragua defeated Zulia 6-2.
Ramos was 2-for-4 in the game and also scored two runs. Dustin Martin also was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Yangervis Solarte was 1-for-3 with a walk. For Zulia, Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta) and Guillermo Quiroz each had two hits.
On the mound, Omar Poveda (Texas) pitched 5.1 scoreless innings to get the win. Dwayne Pollok (Dodgers) took the loss for Zulia.
Thursday
Dustin Martin's seventh-inning homer provided the margin of victory as Aragua defeated Lara 6-5.
Martin also doubled, going 2-for-4 on the day with two runs scored. Yangervis Solarte was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored, hitting a triple. Wilson Ramos was 0-for-3 with two walks. Ronny Cedeno (Pittsburgh) also homered, going 2-for-5. Alcides Escobar (Milwaukee) was 4-for-5 to lead Lara.
Jose Guanchez retired the only batter he faced, and that was good enough to get the win. Victor Moreno pitched the last 1.2 innings scorelessly for the save. Romulo Sanchez (Yankees) gave up the homer to Martin to take the loss.
Friday
Lara did all its scoring in the first four innings, defeating Aragua 12-2.
Carlos Duran hit two home runs and a double to lead Lara. For the game, he was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Jose Yepez also had three hits for Lara. For Aragua, Dustin Martin, Wilson Ramos, and Jason Pridie each went 1-for-4.
Jason Jones pitched two innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits. The losing pitcher was starter Jesus Delgado (Florida), who gave up the other seven runs in 1.2 innings. The winner was Steven Shell (Florida), who pitched seven innings and gave up only one run on four hits.
Saturday
Aragua scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth, but fell short as the Tigres lost to Zulia 10-9. Aragua had the bases loaded with two out when ex-Twin Luis Maza (Dodgers) flied out to end the game.
Zulia got home runs by Kenny Perez (Colorado), Ernesto Mejia (Atlanta), and Carlos Gonzalez (Colorado). Maza and Jason Pridie led the Tigres attack, each going 3-for-5. Yangervis Solarte was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles. Dustin Martin was 1-for-3. Wilson Ramos went 0-for-4 with a walk.
Yeiper Castillo (Boston) was the winning pitcher for Zulia, with Chris Hernandez getting the save. Wilfredo Ledezma (Pittsburgh) took the loss for Aragua.
Sunday
Seth Etherton (San Diego) pitched five innings of one-hit ball as Aragua defeated Magallanes 2-1.
Ronny Cedeno (Pittsburgh) provided the Aragua offense with two home runs. He also had a double, going 3-for-4. Jason Pridie and Dustin Martin were each 2-for-4. Yangervis Solarte was 0-for-4 with a walk.
Etherton was the winning pitcher, with the save going to Victor Moreno. Yusmeiro Petit (Seattle) took the loss for Magallanes.
Aragua did not play Monday, and does not play today. The Tigres next game will be Wednesday night at Zulia.

This is sort of the format I'm considering using for next year's minor league reports. There will obviously be a few differences, because I'll be looking at one team with all Twins, rather than a team with several Twins plus several Twins on other teams. I'll probably drop the "lukewarm" category. I may need to track the hot and cold categories over a longer period than a week, especially for pitchers, for whom one week's work may only be one outing.
