Aragua lost its third straight, falling to Magallanes 10-6 Friday.
Ex-Twin Michael Ryan (Florida) led the Magallanes offense with a 4-for-4 day, including a home run. Reegie Corona (Yankees) contributed three hits. For Aragua, Jason Pridie showed he was not done for the week, going 2-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBIs. He kept his average at .500 for the year (13-for-26). Dustin Martin was also 2-for-4 with a homer, driving in two. Wilson Ramos was 1-for-4 and Yangervis Solarte was 0-for-3 with a walk.
Deolis Guerra was the starting pitcher for Magallanes; he gave up four runs on five hits in three innings, although he struck out six. Rafael Cova (San Francisco) pitched two shutout innings of relief to get the win. Starter Jhon Garcia made his season debut with Aragua and took the loss. He faced the minimum over the first two innings, but surrendered five runs in the third before being replaced. His line for the game was five runs on five hits in 2.1 innings.
Aragua has fallen to a tie for sixth place. The Tigres begin a three-game homestand by hosting Caracas this evening.
