Home cooking was no help as Aragua lost its fourth straight, this time falling to Caracas 6-2 Saturday.
Wilson Ramos led the Aragua offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and both RBIs. He was the only Tigre with two hits. Jason Pridie was 0-for-3 with a walk. Yangervis Solarte was used as a pinch hitter and struck out in his only at-bat. Caracas was led by Jose Castillo and Raul Padron (Oakland), each of whom had two hits including a home run.
Joe Bateman (Tampa Bay) got the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Jose Ortegano (Atlanta) pitched three innings, giving up only one hit and striking out four, to get the save. The losing pitcher was Seth Etherton (Arizona).
The loss drops Aragua into seventh place, ahead of only Caribes. The Tigres host La Guaira this evening.
