A two-run double by Wilson Ramos was capped a three-run fifth inning as Aragua beat Caracas 5-2. The victory was the third straight for the Tigres.
Ramos and Sam Fuld (Cubs) each went 2-for-5 with a double to lead Aragua. Jason Pridie was 1-for-4 and Yangervis Solarte was 1-for-3. Jackson Melian was 2-for-4 to lead Caracas.
Wilfredo Ledezma (Pittsburgh) got the win for Aragua, allowing ten baserunners (seven hits and two walks) but only two runs in 5.1 innings. Victor Moreno pitched the final two-thirds of an inning to get the save. Renee Cortez was the losing pitcher for Caracas.
The win gives Aragua sole possession of sixth place. The Tigres host Caracas tonight. There are two weeks remaining in the Venezuelan League regular season.
