Tigres Tales

Aragua overcame a 9-3 deficit as the Tigres defeated Zulia 10-9 Friday.  A double by ex-Twin Luis Maza (Dodgers) drove in pinch-runner Yonderman Rodriguez (Philadelphia) with the winning run with two out in the bottom of the ninth.

Ex-Twin Alex Romero (Houston) led the Aragua offense with three hits and two RBIs.  Hector Gimenez (Pittsburgh) hit two homers and drove in three runs.  Wilson Ramos was 1-for-4, hitting his tenth home run.  Yangervis Solarte was used as a substitute and singled in his only at-bat.  Kenny Perez (Colorado) went 4-for-5 to lead Zulia.

Josh Ellis (Arizona) got the win in relief for Aragua, pitching a scoreless ninth.  Chris Hernandez was the losing pitcher.

The win once again moves Aragua into sole possession of sixth place.  The Tigres begin a two-game series in Margarita this evening.
