Lara scored five runs in the last three innings, getting the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, as the Cardenales defeated the Tigres 6-5 Wednesday.
Yangervis Solarte went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Aragua offense. Wilson Ramos was 2-for-5 with a home run, his 11th. Ex-Twin Alex Romero (Houston) and Hector Gimenez (Pittsburgh) each had two hits. Lara was led by Luis Antonio Jimenez, who was 3-for-4 with a game-tying eighth-inning homer and three RBIs.
Seth Etherton (Arizona) started for Aragua, giving up only an unearned run on three hits in 5.2 innings. Victor Moreno took the loss. Romulo Sanchez (Yankees) got the win, striking out three in 1.1 innings.
Aragua hosts Caribes tonight.
