Ex-Twin Lew Ford had two hits to lead Caribes over Aragua 2-1 Thursday night.
Ford was the only Caribes player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a walk. Aragua's only run came on a third inning home run by Raul Chavez (Toronto). Ex-Twin Alex Romero (Houston) and Hector Gimenez (Pittsburgh) each had two hits for the Tigres. Yangervis Solarte was 0-for-4 and Wilson Ramos was 0-for-3. Aragua had only six hits in the game.
Edina native Jim Brower got the win for Caribes, giving up a run on four hits in seven innings. Miguel Pinango was credited with the save. Wilfredo Ledezma (Pittsburgh) took the loss, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out nine.
Aragua hosts Zulia tonight.
