Aragua scored three in the first and hung on to defeat Zulia 4-3 Friday night.
Ex-Twins Alex Romero (Houston) and Luis Maza (Dodgers) each had two hits to lead the Tigres. Wilson Ramos was 1-for-4 with a first-inning double that came in the middle of the three-run inning. Yangervis Solarte was also 1-for-4. Jonathan Goncalves returned to Aragua and was 0-for-3. Kenny Perez (Colorado) had two hits to lead Zulia.
Yohan Pino (Cleveland) got the win for Aragua, giving up three runs on six hits in five innings. Victor Moreno got the save with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Heath Totten took the loss for Zulia.
Aragua travels to Lara this evening.
