Wolves lose again by 22, Kevin Love down to 17 minutes. This is the worst possible situation for the Wolves. They are driving what is left of their fan base with a tremendous stretch of terrible basketball. Their best, or second-best, player has checked out and is getting buried on the bench. I doubt that Love is in their long term plans. How's that O.J. Mayo deal looking now?

Wolves give up 79 points in the first half on Tuesday night (a club record), but they tightened the screws in the second half and only gave up 73. I expect another Korean recipe over at Canis Hoopus.

Lucy and I went for a walk last night and I pushed Miss SBG out in the stroller. It was a little cool, cool enough for a blanket for Miss SBG. But, wow, did the spring air feel good.

Beware the ides of March.

The melting continues. I'm seeing grass around the trees in the front (north side) of the yard. Roof is ice free. Grass showing up in the back yard. These updates brought to you by someone who is profoundly sick of winter.

A colleague of mine who is a big sports guy (primarily college) read Top Jimmy's column and told me that the Twins should trade Joe Mauer. What do I take from that? Joe's demands are large enough that some of the more casual fans are starting to get turned off by him.

I'm starting to see a little grass along the north side of the house. In the front, the snowpack is still pretty solid, but the good news is that the ice damn is gone. A visual inspection of the shingles reveals no obvious damage, which is not to say that there isn't any damage, of course.

LT to visit Minneapolis? A potential replacement for Chester Taylor? That's what the Strib is saying. Huh. I never saw that one coming.

Wolves cruise to their 50th loss last night. That's 11 of 21 seasons with at least 50 losses.

I'd like to thank the Academy for giving Sandra Bullock an Oscar. I have the same feeling as when the Yankees win the World Series.

The Boss is on his way to Winona, and in a bit I'm headed that way myself. I needed a little coffee to get me going, though, so I stopped in here and made a pot that will hopefully last the weekend.

The other night, Miss SBG got out of bed about 9:00 and I asked her why she wasn't in bed sleeping and she told me that she couldn't sleep because she had a smile on her face. That smile kept waking her up. Now, if that was my worst problem, life would be really good.

It's pretty unbelievable that the Wolves/Mavs game wasn't on local TV. I mean, the Mavs are a perennial power and I would think would be a team that basketball fans would want to see. But, these are trying times for the local five and if they can't get a game against Dallas on TV, well, there's problems.

It's true, I have a case of spring fever. I am heading down to Winona to clean out the in-laws house this Saturday -- if a certain Russian language student is in town, maybe we can meet for brunch? The house is sold and will be closed on in a couple of weeks. I won't be getting down there again much after this.

37 for a high today. More melting. Spring is coming. I wonder if the underground collection system beneath Target Field is collecting water from melted snow today.
